We are looking for applicants who have a solid research foundation, innovative ideas in relevant fields, practical achievements, or are exploring solutions to difficult problems with long-term value. If your research is still ongoing, you are also welcome to submit phased results or detailed research descriptions.

*ByteDance reserves the right of final interpretation of the scholarship program. If an applicant or scholarship winner is found to have submitted false materials, committed academic misconduct, violated professional ethics, or broken laws and regulations, the organizer has the right to disqualify them or revoke the award.

The 2026 ByteDance Scholarship is open to tech-focused university students globally.
Students from all degree levels (Bachelor's, Master's, Ph.D.) can apply. We encourage and welcome every student with a passion for research to apply, regardless of their academic year.
Students in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science and Technology, Basic Sciences, and other related fields can apply. Examples include:
Foundation Models, Visual Intelligence, Speech Intelligence, Machine Learning Systems, Large Model Applications, AI for Science, Embodied AI, and other Artificial General Intelligence technologies.
You can open the application form by clicking "Apply Now" at the top of the website, complete the Lark account registration, and then fill in and submit the relevant materials. If you need to modify or add materials, please open the application form and click on the upper right corner to enter the submission history page to make changes. If the advisor submitted a recommendation form via targeted invitation, the student still needs to submit application materials through the official website, including the application form, resume, proof of research capabilities, and advisor recommendation letter (optional).
No, internship experience has no impact on the scholarship selection, ensuring a fair and just selection process.
The grant can be allocated by the winning student and advisor according to their personal research needs, as long as it is used for legal and legitimate research purposes.
It does not conflict. You are also welcome to describe other scholarship/scholar program experiences in your application materials.
